Property Maintenance

Walnut Township Residents:

On September 1, 2020 Walnut Township adopted a Residential Property Maintenance Resolution (PMR) #14-2020, based on the 2018 International Property Maintenance Code (IPMC) and one addendum to the IPMC.  In order to enforce the PMR, the Township employees a Property Maintenance Inspector who has the authority to write Notices to those who are in violation of the PMR.  The Township has adopted this PMR on a priority basis to address the more egregious issues that affect the structures exteriors and the surrounding site.

In addition to the original Resolution #14-2020 the Township adopted Resolution #26-2021 which increased the fines and penalties for violations to the PMR.

By adopting a Property Maintenance enforcement department, the Township is saying that we take pride in the place we call home!  We also know that by reducing blight and not allowing trash, junk and abandoned vehicles to accumulate we are making our neighborhoods cleaner and safer!

Thank you for doing your part to keep our neighborhoods clean and safe!
